HELP US IDENTIFY YOUR LOCAL WORKING K-9s

We need lots of volunteers across the country to help us identify as many Working Dogs as possible. Whether your town, city, township, county or state has one K-9 officer or 100, we want to know who they are.

You will assist us in getting the initial information to the officers and follow up to make sure they complete the enrollment form and return it to the NK9WD. The NK9WD will provide you with all of the necessary materials and training. All volunteers who complete enrollments will be recognized on our national website.

RAISE EMERGENCY FUNDS FOR A LOCAL WORKING K-9

The NK9WD has assisted several officers this past year with raising funds for emergency surgery. These emergency drives usually try to raise $3,000 to $5,000 in a very short period of time for one specific K-9. We need volunteers willing to help us spread the word at local events or online through social media and other online resources.

HELP GENERATE DONATIONS

If your organization would like to hold a fundraiser to benefit the NK9WD, we’d love to support you. If you are part of an organization that would like to do something to benefit these Police K-9 heroes, we’d love brag about you. We have received funds raised from 50/50′s at local AARP meetings and Red Hat Ladies Clubs. A local security company donated their time to help fingerprint local children at county fairs in exchange for donations to the NK9WD. Remember, no donation is too small. If you would like to fundraise on our behalf, please contact us first.

BE A POLITICAL ADVOCATE

We still need to get the “Police K-9 Bill of Rights” introduced into legislation. We need volunteers who can forward the proposed bill to their respective congressional representatives and encourage others to do so as well through social media, snail mail, articles in local newspapers, etc.

If you’d like to volunteer, please send an email to NK9WD Volunteer with your name, address and phone number and we will get in touch with you shortly.
